HOW MANY TYPES OF RAM

RAM : RAM (pronounced ramm) is an acronym for random access memory, a type of computer memory that can be accessed randomly; that is, any byte of memory can be accessed without touching the preceding bytes. RAM is found in servers, PCs, tablets, smartphones and other devices, such as printers.

Although all RAM basically serves the same purpose, there are a few different types commonly in use today: Static RAM (SRAM) Dynamic RAM (DRAM) ... Double Data Rate Synchronous Dynamic RAM (DDR SDRAM, DDR2, DDR3, DDR4)

DDR : Double Data Rate
Stands for "Double Data Rate." It is an advanced version of SDRAM, a type of computer memory. DDR-SDRAM, sometimes called "SDRAM II," can transfer data twice as fast as regular SDRAM chips.

DDR2: Double Data Rate 2
Stands for "Double Data Rate 2." DDR2 RAM is an improved version of DDR memory that is faster and more efficient. Like standard DDR memory, DDR2 memory can send data on both the rising and falling edges of the processor's clock cycles.

DDR3 is a type of SDRAM that is used for system memory. It is available in both DIMM and SO-DIMM form factors. DDR3 RAM is similar to DDR2 RAM, but uses roughly 30% less power and can transfer data twice as fast
DDR4 :DDR4 SDRAM is the abbreviation for "double data rate fourth generation synchronous dynamic random-access memory", the latest variant of memory in computing. DDR4 is able to achieve higher speed and efficiency thanks to increased transfer rates and decreased voltage
